low tier or gdi
by: GOGIs it better to join a low tier sorority (like ADPi, KD, AXiD, DG) or to be a GDI? Or would being in a spirit group be a better choice?

I'll admit I'm in one of those houses. I won't say which one though. Greek Rank has claimed they're lower tier so when I rushed I was afraid when I got cut from big houses. And when I got my bid, I was a little worried but rolled with it. Now that I'm affiliated and mingled more, I can honestly say I'm so happy where I'm at and I NEVER even consider the tier ranking system anymore. Sure you may not mingle with the "top frats", but honestly I've met some in top tier and they weren't very nice. Do what makes you happy. If you need the label of a "top tier sorority" to appease you, then try to rush and if you don't get the house you want drop. But I promise that just because Greek Rank says its "lower tier" doesn't mean it's a lower quality experience. I thoroughly enjoy my time. And I have a good friend in a spirit group who loves it. It's all what you make of it. Good luck!!!

Truthfully KD, ADphi and DG are all strong nationally and are not easy to get a bid from. The lie this site spreads is that if you are considered a top PNM everyone will want you. What one sorority considers a top pnm another sorority may not rank as high. If you get a bid from any of UT's sororities then you have just received a bid from one of the top 10 sororities in the country and what some consider top here is not too in other parts of the country. \n\n\n\n\n
