low gpa

OOS student, low gpa right above 3.0. Very competitive high school hard course load, highly involved in community service, STUCO etc. Will I still get a bid?

Eh, maybe. Probably not from a house you initially want though. You might not get a bid at all, considering most of the other rushees are going to be in the 3.5+ range.

gpa isn't really a big deal at Texas as long as you don't look like a grade risk. a 3.0 is pretty low. freshmen coming in are all going to be 3.5 or more, possibly even closer to 3.6-3.7 or higher. girls with a 3.5 and up don't really have anything to worry about, but yours is pretty low. you might get a bid, but it'll probably be from a house that doesn't care very much about grades.

No offense, but I thought OOS standards were higher than in-state. How did you get in with lower than 3.0?
