pkt transfer student
by: transferHi! I am a member of a PKT house (want to keep which one private for anonymity) at another big school in Texas. I am transferring to UT in the fall and hoping to re-affiliate, but I haven't begun the process yet. Recruitment was competitive at my school, but not in the way that it is at UT. I've heard stories of girls transferring and almost being shunned by the UT chapter of their sorority, mainly when it comes to PKT houses. Does anyone here have experience with this? I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to try re-affiliating here!

PKT friend groups are pre-formed so it is very hard to break into these groups unless you’re part of the gang already from camp or high school.
That being said, it does happen both ways.
I know a Texas Tech pi phi that transferred and had no problem. Had she rushed at Texas she would’ve been no more than a DG but it all worked out for her. I know a Baylor Kappa who transferred and definitely felt like an outsider. It depends on your confidence level and your ability to fit in.
