2018 rush
by: HelpDuring rush week (specifically, the 1st 2 days), how do you know if a sorority likes you or not? I have heard some will separate you by specific rooms, etc.

You are normally assigned to one sorority member, and if they do not introduce you to anyone else in the house on that first day-that is a sign that you are not coming back! If they introduce you to a lot of the girls, then you will probably be invited back. I hear if Pi Phi doesn't want you, you are sent in a room to dance (so basically, you don't meet any of the sorority members). Not sure if this is true, but I have heard from several people.

How many girls does Pi Phi send to dance? Do they know who they are getting ahead of time? Or at least who they want?
I heard something about hats on pref night?? Anyone know if you know if a chapter has you on their bid list?

This is completely untrue. There is no special room. You must be some crazy old lady.
The truth is, all the worthwhile sororities have already made their invite lists for second round before rush even begins. You really have no control over it by the way you act during open round. You're not going to convince a sorority to invite you back in just a couple of minutes.

It might be different sort of but felt that way to me. I dropped them after I “danced”. Was very clear and very rude how they showed who they were interested in. Really hurts what people think of them

Except the did it last year. Difference from other years was they didn't really talk to anyone - because they had already made their choices prior to open house.

EVERYONE from Pi Phi to APhi has already made their choices and the rest take our leftovers. That's the way it is. Stop lying about things you don't know grandma

Have theymad3 their lists when they haven’t met all of the girls? Also surely there is some overlap?

When I went through rush, I couldn't believe the obvious message Pi Phi sent out. It was SOOOOO rude, although they didn't even get it. I was with one girl, and many other rushees had girls around them. One was even in a chair, and surrounded by Pi Phis. I KNEW, these girls don't want me. It was such an immature way to handle things by this sorority. Maybe they can get a clue, and discuss it this year before rush.

Maybe it's a good thing PiPhi has no manners or protocol. At least (from the way you described your visit), you'll know to totally skip them the next round, regardless of their "re-invite" decisions.

I really liked Pi Phi. But I didn’t have a ton of connections there. I think maybe a few were pulling for me but I never felt welcome as a whole. I made it to the end with them though. A part of me really wanted to pref them but I chose another top 6 that always make me feel a part of their sorority from the beginning. It really seemed obvious in that house and one other that I was totally wanted. And I’m completely happy. Go with your gut. Deep down you will know where you belong. I may have been left with nothing....

If Pi Phi is nice to you, yet you aren't certifiably sure about their intentions, do NOT TRUST them! My grandma told me that when I was iffy deciding between them and one other group. I'm so glad I went with the other one, as I found out I could have been left out in the cold.

I think that is more true of some other sororities (cough cough Chi O and Tri Delta) than any of top three especially Pi phi. Pi phi doesn’t need to play games. Pi phi and Theta choose who they want. Period. They might lose some to each other or to Kappa but that ireally is about it. Most girls going Pi Phi and Theta aren’t really even looking anywhere else except maybe Kappa. Most girls going Chi O or Tri Delta don’t have connections to pi phi or theta either which is why so much hate....

I don’t mean to be cruel, but you are wrong. Most girls who know they are going PKT for sure aren’t even considering Tri delta or chi O. Really. Much like Pi phi and Theta aren’t considering most girls going Tri delta or chi o. Just different worlds.

And PKT are not doing all of the dirty rushing going on elsewhere so, no, they don’t play the games. No dinners in Houston and Dallas, no lake house visits for rushees, no planning to do tons of things during orientation, etc.....

@nottrue- Bless your heart, 'different worlds'-seriously??? You are clearly some snob who perhaps for yourself would only consider PKT, but that is your issue. You sound like an out of touch idiot. I can assure you plenty of girls have chosen ChiO and Tridelta over PKT. I mean really...how many snap bids did Kappa give out? Pi Phi has done snap bids also...so....Also, PKT does have dinners-they just do it during the school year, not summer (don't they invite girls up for parties?).

She does have a point about the games.....it is not against the rules during the school year.....
Also, pi phi at least is very clear on who they want. Really rude but it seems to work for them. Kappa is definitely rushing against Chi o and Tri delta

this isn’t necessarily true. I know for a lot of sororities you have to be introduced to atleast two girls and if you aren’t then you automatically have to be brought back for the next round because one girl’s opinion isn’t enough for the chapter
