% that get sorority bids?
by: Atx1I’m really nervous about recruitment. How many girls get totally cut from all houses? How hard is it to get a bid? What % of girls get bids in the fall?

98-99% of pnm's who are open to ALL chapters will receive a bid as long as you aren't of "questionable reputation", have recs, and aren't a grade risk (pretty rare for a freshman to be a grade risk anymore at UT). The only weird thing that can sometimes happen is if you have a "perfect" rush early week and get invited back to all top chapters, only to have them all release you and you not have any less competitive recruiting chapters on your party list left. But don't stress about that because the chance of that happening is so low!
Now if you're set on a Big 6 bid or Big 6 + the middle 2-3 chapters....some years upwards of 30% of pnm's who register for rush end up without a bid because SO many will drop out when they don't get invited back to the only chapters they'll consider. But those pnm's do it to themselves by being so narrow-minded.

If you keep an open mind, you are almost guaranteed to get a bid. Every year there are a few PNMs who are cut by all sororities, but there are very good reasons for that to happen.
Now, if you aren't open to all sororities, that's where problems can occur. So many will claim they were "completely dropped" from recruitment, when the truth is they dropped out like big cranky babies when they're cut from the few sororities they're focused on.
So keep an open mind and be kind and receptive to all groups!
