legacy

I am a legacy to one of the top chapters but am not a UT legacy. My legacy chapter is only mid to top where my mom went to school. I went to one of the good camps, have a nice résumé, and attended a private school. I know several girls in most of the big six chapters, and I think they will support me.....they act like they want me at least. However, I am worried that my legacy chapter will drop me bc not UT legacy and that other chapters will drop me because of legacy status. I like girls in my legacy chapter, but I like girls in several other chapters also. I would be happy in many chapters, i think. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the world of UT recruitment. Your legacy status will be known to every house and you will more than likely be released from most houses because of it.

Should just not fess up to being a legacy then? I would rather hav a shot of getting a bid somewhere than dropped everywhere because of legacy status. Sounds like it will hurt more than it helps.

If anyone knows you are a legacy (ie, your legacy chapter) then everyone will know. The word just gets around. All you can do is put your best foot forward and hope for the best.

Don't follow any advice on Greek Rank. Find an older UT girl and get the facts. These things change from year to year.
