I'm not sure about how it works for KA, but take it seriously. Make time to come down this summer if you're serious about any of these chapters, especially if you don't know anyone. The people without connections getting into UT know this is necessary, get here early having reached out long beforehand, and make it a priority. It's good you're on their list but the success of anyone's rush often depends on the effort they put in short-term or long-term, People need to see what you're really like. You should be directly in touch with them or an alum about the scheduling conflict, if you aren't going to take this advice. If not, you could always try for sophomore year.
