Fiji=Tom Buchanan, old old money, longest tradition and arrogant.
SAE=Nick Carraway, from a good old family, not as wealthy, top tier for a long time but noe as long as fiji has beenn
Sigep= Jay Gatsby, questionable origins, upstart new money wannabes who party hard and sugar daddy alums dumping $$$ for a house and furnishings to compensate for being founded in 1930.

has probably spent more time overall in the top tier than anyone but Fiji at UT. They've only recently gotten back there, but they were top tier forever before they got kicked off (and they were the only house from the 80s/90s top tier that successfully got back there after being off of campus. Also like the Gatsby thing, kind of funny and true.

I think the top tier used to be more than four houses. You sure Fiji wasn't at UT a few months before Phi Delt?

Thanks for the input smartass, you can't just look it up directly, and you have to dig to find Fiji's founding date. They were founded all of 2 months apart, so the difference is pretty incidental. Since we're on the topic, SAE's charter is older than both (and the school for that matter). I know SAE chartered at a different school originally, but if you just look it up, it looks like SAE is the oldest. Thanks for your useful input.

ATO and Phi Delt aren't what they were. Even Kappa Sig was a bigger deal back in the day.

Who cares who the oldest is! What counts is who is better now and in my opinion the the most fun, nice, well rounded, masculine guys are Fiji and Sig Ep - NO DOUBT!

Kappa Sig and Sig Ep are the best of the top houses IMO. Fiji is a little too old school and low profile, and SAE are kinda douchey.

It was always phi delt, fiji, kappa sig, then ato. That was the big 4 up until the 1980s. Phi delt was the most exclusive being the first fraternity at school and rivaled with fiji. Sae was upper middle until the 80s then became top wen the other top tier ran into trouble. Sigep became top tier in a similar way in the late 90s, but sigep had very little history compared to the others before that time.
