This non-NPC sorority has announced that they're coming to UT. They're also colonizing at Penn State and have a colony at Bama. Honestly, I don't see them lasting very long, but whatev.

More likely will act like spirit group. Could do ok. Won’t have to deal with cost of a house.

They won’t do formal recruitment through Panhellenic. It will be separate.

KBG typically colonizes on campus by taking girls from closed chapters, usually the ones that closed because of hazing (see Wake Forest Pi Phi). They are trying to become part of the NPC or something but if you check their actual website, they have a very limited number of chapters and they often close within 1 pledge class.

They seem like if a pyramid scheme was a sorority: opens up randomly, huge promises, expands too rapidly, all sizzle no steak.

They've actually updated their national website and it's at least a little more functional but they've removed the list of all chapters which had the inactive ones with years of founding and closing.

If they would follow the processes in place, like any normal NPC group, they might be more successful and actually have the ability to grow and become a full-fledged NPC group. But, they just show up on campuses that don't want them, without asking, and start recruiting.

That's just it; they aren't NPC and don't seem to be concerned with ethics or recruiting quality members. I would rather see some of the smaller NPC sororities colonize more and have their chance to expand nationally than even consider this group that, frankly, seems pretty sketchy on a national level.

I agree. I'm just saying if their goal is to become part of NPC, which I suspect it is, their process isn't going to get them there

Their national website no longer lists them as an active chapter.

Non NPC sororities are not even a blip on the screen over here. Who cares?

They tried at Alabama and didn't last a year. I agree that I would much rather give one of the small NPC sororities a chance to grow, like Theta Phi Alpha or SSS.
