rushing as a sophomore

Hi I'm currently in the process of transferring to UT this year for the 2018 fall semester and I was planning to rush. I didn't really go to a wealthy high school so I was just wondering what is the best way to make connections, and to request recommendation letters if I'm rushing as a sophomore. Also, what are my chances of getting into a pretty decent sorority on campus?

Do you know girls in current houses? If so visit this spring. For recommendations, have you mother ask her friends on Facebook.
