How does social life and the party scene at UT Austin compare to Texas Tech?

The UT party scene is very different from Tech. We go all out with our parties and have larger budgets, so the builds are infinitely better, more high profile artists come to austin, and the students are much more classy than tech. The proximity to 6th and rainey means that we can go barhopping any night of the week, unlike lubbock which has maybe 6 or 7 bars that everyone goes to. Lastly, tech students have raider rash.

Higher socioeconomic, yes. More connections, yes. "Classier?" Debatable. Depends on who you associate with.
