best place to live?
by: PNMWhat are the best places to live if I'm planning to go through sorority recruitment? Will on-campus residence halls like Jester or San Jacinto be looked down upon? Would places like Hardin or SRD be better options? I know that the latter tends to house a lot of Greek students, so would I be missing out by living in a residence hall on campus? Thanks in advance!

A lot of greek girls live in Hardin, SRD, or Callaway. But living in one of these places isn't going to get you a bid. (For example, you won't go PKT just because you lived there.) And a house that really wants you isn't going to drop you because you live on campus. A handful of girls from a lot of big 6 sororities live in an on campus dorm. The main draw for Hardin/SRD/Cway is the community and living with a bunch of others who are also in greek life.

If you want 99% Greek and all girls, go Hardin. Beware though - food is okay at best and Kathi is the WOAT
If you want 40%ish Greek and all girls + actually edible food with a gorgeous dorm, go SRD
For on campus housing, I'd suggest Duren, Kinsolving or San Jac as the nicest and newest with best location for food.
Hardin may still have spots open this year but a definite no on SRD spots - submit an application at least a year ahead for both!
