Is being an AXiD legacy going to hurt me?

Typically if you don't want want the possibility of rushing your legacy, you don't list it. You can also cut your legacy after open house so everyone knows you have zero interest in that chapter. Or, give them a chance and see if you like them.

yeah, listing AZD will hurt you if you don't want to go AZD, and at UT, you prolly don't.

Don't list it. Never mention it.

I'm gonna go against what everyone here is saying and tell you that you SHOULD list it. And here's why.

1. It shows you're not a first generation Greek. PNMs with Greeks in their family are more likely to be in it for the long haul and not flake and drop out a year into their membership. We like PNMs whose families "get it" and we won't have to worry about them not paying their dues.

2. It's not going to affect your chances with big 6 houses if you're truly big 6 material. Those houses don't compete with AXiD because they don't need to. They'll take one look at you and know whether you'd want to be in AXiD or not.

3. Poaching legacies is fun. Even if it's from a house that we don't normally compete with.

If you were a legacy for DDD but also like XO a lot, XO might not want to take the risk with you by putting you on their bid list, because they'd worry you would want DDD. But since it's AXiD, I doubt the other houses will actually worry about losing you to them.

Is AZD top or middle tier anywhere??

By: hmmmmm

One of the weakest national sororities. They are ok at some small schools or commuter schools or schools with weak Greek life. Like they're ok at Texas State but really, it's Texas State.

Besides Texas State, where, exactly, is AZD mid or upper tier? I'm just curious now.

Random but a friend of mine goes South East Missouri State and AZD is the top sorority there. They are a D1 school and have 9ish sororities so does that count for anything? Lol

I would list it for the reason pp mentioned above IF your legacy is from an older generation and not a sister (and not a UT house legacy) - shows your family values Greek life and understands the commitment, both time and financial.

My bff's mom was in a chapter in another state that has a pretty bad reputation here and she is in Big 6. Her mom is super involved with bff's chapter's parents group.

Bottom line - you can't change who you are. If you're PKT / Big 6 material (high school & camp connections, old money, old UT family, etc), you're going to end up there. If you're smart/ pretty/ super involved, you're going to end up Core 4 or maybe sneak into Big 6. If you're not as strong or connected of a PNM, you might be glad for your AZD legacy,
