grades

I'm rushing as a sophomore with a not so good gpa. My mother was diagnosed w breast cancer 3 months before I left for college freshman year and it was as very hard and I didn't do well in grades. I took a summer class and brought it up a little more but no were near a 3.0. I was ranked 27 or of 500 kids in high school with a 3.9 average. I have been invited out but several sororities and they have followed me back on social media and I've been posted on their Facebook page. I am very worried. I stress about it everyday. Do you think I could still get A bid

Hate to tell you this but if you have a GPA that low, everyone is going to drop you. What you did in high school is not considered at all once you have a college record.

^^ don't listen to them! grades are a cut off for some sororities but to most it is just one of many factors. enjoy your summer and don't stress about rush! take it from someone who was very worried when they went through recruitment!!

You obviously don't yo here. She said she's nowhere near a 3.0. That's going to be an immediate easy cut for any sorority.

Go through rush; give it your best, but expect hard cuts immediately. Too many cute, smart girls for UT sororitys to take a girl with bad grades. Even if you are a legacy to a top 8 chapter, no reason for them to take you.
