The Pretty White Girl (PWG) is going extinct.
They are America's rarest human species.
America's smallest minority group. 😑

PWGs are @ 1 in 15 in this Spring's sorority PCs.
It was 1 in 3 ten years ago.

Take many pictures of them, so we can remember what they looked like... 🦄

UT Austin penalizes students from competitive high schools.

The 6 % rule penalizes students from the better private and public schools. Hard to make that 6% cut off if it’s a 4.5 at your high school and you have a 4.4. You could have a perfect sat score; it doesn’t matter. It is ALL about class rank.

Mid students from lame schools get right in. Maybe top 6 % at their lower achieving high school is a 3.8.

Many who get in to Ivy League schools are denied at UT. So they may choose go to ACC for a year.

UT and the state of Texas penalize you for being smart and going to a good high school.

Texas House Bill 588 discriminates against students from competitive high schools, making in harder for them to get in to UT, and making it easier for students from less competitive schools to get in. This bill is bringing down the overall quality of students at Texas colleges, especially UT, which in turn is affecting the quality of the Greek community. Outstanding students have to jump through the acc hoop to get in to UT, and the Greek community recognizes this. So yes, they take some acc students, who should’ve been at UT in the first place.

Everyone knows it is extremely hard to get into UT. There is probably a lot of ACC kids that are just as smart but just didn't make the cut out of the thousands that apply yearly. One might be surprised how many students graduate at UT that spend their first couple of years elsewhere. In the end, an ACC kid might look a lot better then the UT kid standing beside them during rush time. Also, a lot of the ACC kids get in, pay the dues but are not ACTIVE members until they get into UT. So some think if you started with 55 and ended up with 50 that some dropped but in reality the other 5 might be ACC kids who didn't count as an ACTIVE.

UT is not difficult to get into

UT is harder to get into than every other school in Texas (except Rice which is a lot harder), but it still has a 40% acceptance rate and is ranked in the 50's or 60's on US News for top colleges. "Extremely hard to get into" is definitely an exaggeration

Blinn at a&m is a little different though because blinn team students take classes at a&m and are considered a&m students. Most top sororities look down at blinn team though from what I've heard. Even A&M won't take a full blinn student so idk why we take acc students.

Is this true for sororities too? I'm surprised that you don't have to actually be enrolled in UT to join. Most schools require not only that you attend the said school but that you take a certain number of hours and have a specific GPA.

It’s ONLY the frats, especially Fiji and Rho.

Who do you think keeps the fraternities going through endowments? The families of the kids from these schools. Dues only go so far. You are very naive if you think these students aren’t beneficial. They will survive without the fraternity; the fraternity won’t survive without them.

Fraternities are a lot less controlled by alums and the National office than the sororities.
Sororities don't take ACC students.
The fraternities take who they want.
Long run ACC members are bad for the Fraternity system but try telling that to guys who want to hang out with their friends.

Maybe they need to branch out and hang out with new people. Going to school away from your high school buddies is not the end of the world, and it probably would actually make them more interesting people.

Acceptance rate might be 40% which is low but the percentage who get in and actually get into their school of choice is a lot lower then that. That is when the "extremely" hard to get into comes into play. One would know that if you truly go to UT. A&M has been easy to get into in the last 2 or 3 years. They want numbers not brains. So go away Aggies.

You're an idiot if you think UT is extremely hard to get into. Examples of schools in that category are Ivy Leagues, Stanford, Duke, Rice, Vanderbilt, etc. UT is more along the lines of "moderately difficult to get into"

The acceptance rate for out-of-state students is 8%. And to get in in-state you have to be around the top 6% of your graduating class (top 10% rule doesn’t apply to UT Austin). And that doesn’t even guarantee you’ll get into the school of your choice within the university.

Let’s be honest here folks. UT is highly selective for majors like Comp Sci, Business, engineering and Plan II - the rest, not so much
