best national fraternities?

SAE and Sigma Chi are definitely strong everywhere, but i feel like DKE is not as strong because are not big on the west coast. With that said, many DKE chapters are just as good as those of SAE and Sigma Chi at the campuses they are at

I mean what major national fraternities didn't lose a bunch of strong chapters in the 80s and 90s for being too intense?

Sigma chi and SAE. Your ques.tion makes no sense, but the answer is still SAE and sigma chi. These two nationals don't pull charters easily unless its really reallybad stuff going on. Across the board they get high marks for tradition, history, and prestige.

I do respect the hell out of SX and SAE's nationals refusal to be clandestinely run by insurance companies, it's just not without some consequences unfortunately.

I think the reason SAE and Sigma chi might seem to get in more trouble is that they have more chapters. Every chapter is just a problem waiting to happen - and the extent of the problem is the only question.

they're good. I'd say they're probably stronger generally in the North than the South, but they're definitely respectable. They used to be middle tier at UT but I think they got kicked off in the 90s maybe and tried to recolonize a few years ago and failed and just died off again (basically same story as Sigma Nu).

Fiji is good at least in the South and have a lot of money it seems. Pretty much all of the 15 or so largest fraternities except maybe TKE are pretty strong nationally.

And a few smaller ones like DKE also.

Fiji and SAE would probably have it out for best in the Big 12, and Fiji is fairly strong in the SEC, and theyre good in the Big 10/Midwest but I'm not sure they're the best there. Overall they're something like number 15 in undergraduate members/chapters, so they have definite regional limitations (like KA), but they're definitely quite strong for their size (like DKE and to a lesser extent KA).

Is good. Most fraternities with over 100 chapters are pretty solid nationally, Sigma Chi and SAE more or less everywhere, and the others generally in 2 or more major regions. After national policy rearranged them, Sig Ep is probably stronger in the Northwest/Midwest. They used to be a stronger Southern fraternity than they are now, and might rival Sigma Chi and SAE if not for bad national policy, but 20 years of brotherhood reviews and balanced man softened them too much to be quite on that level.
