gpa for rush as a sophomore

I'm rushing as a sophomore and have heard that most sororities won't look at you with under a 3.5 or especially 3.0. Do they take majors into consideration or is it all about numbers? Like I have a 3.40 as a biomedical engineering major-- how good of a chance do I have/which houses care most about this assuming average connections/recs
