sorority recommendation letter ?

by: Ayyyy

I'm currently working on getting all my recommendation letters for all the houses. A family friend wants to fill out one for me, but she dropped her sorority before senior year because she got married and couldn't afford the time or money anymore. Can she still write me a recommendation or does it have to come from someone who graduated as still part of the sorority?

Only if she managed to go early alumna. If she simply dropped out, she is not a member of the sorority and can't write recs or do anything an alumna is allowed to do.

Generally, social sororities and fraternities had (have) policies requiring alum status upon an active member's marriage. Your friend should know her status.

The way it was. Depending on the fraternity, a married undergraduate member was prohibited from attending any active member social event - they weren't even allowed in the door. They were only welcome at homecoming and spring formal type events where alumni could generally attend.
