let's talk sorority finances

by:

So I already know dues can range between $2500-5000 a year but I want to know about how much I need to budget for the extra stuff. Like t-shirts, dresses, extra events- that kind of stuff. I know it probably ranges but if anyone can give me a rough estimate that would be appriciated. I just want to know exactly how much money I should be expecting the drop this year.

"So I already know dues can range between $2500-5000....", "...but if anyone can give me a rough estimate...", "just want to know exactly how much....".

You ask for a rough estimate but already have it (2.5k-5k) then you ask for exactly how much.

Cleary you can't afford it, not to mention, you're stupid. Try the spirit groups, hun.

You spelled clearly wrong. Next time you come at somebody for something as dumb as not being rich or being smart you should at least check your spelling.

And what are you gaining by being rude to someone online? I think what she is trying to say is dues on their own range from $2500-5000 a year, and she's wondering about expenses besides that for extra stuff.

sophomore, I would look at each sorority's events and estimate what you would probably need to buy for each and then add a few extra hundred?

Why can't someone just answer the question.

Depends how much you plan on spending on dresses and what you already have. Lots of girls have dresses that they use, and many borrow dresses from friends for events.
Freshmen year there are alot of mixers, and some are themes, so you may need to spend some money on certain clothes for those-- maybe $100-200. There are lots of tshirts and stuff for events and roundup- so maybe around $300 for that stuff, and then there will be some events that you will have to buy a ticket for-- so maybe another $250 to $500 for that. It depends on which sorority you are in, and how much you want to spend. There are girls that spend thousands on clothes and stuff, and others that don't spend that much.

Thank you so much this is exactly what I was looking for! I just wanted to know if it was like an extra couple hundred or a few more thousand tackled onto the dues. I can afford it, but I also want to be financially smart. I wouldn't want to join one without knowing what I'm signing up for. I'm paying for it completely out of my own money- not my parents. So thanks I just really wanted to know what to gage for outside events, clothing, ect.

Can you not figure out you can afford it or not from the 2500-5000??

If you can't handle the give or take 300 dollars either way, you are prolly too borderline to make it work.

Like the responder said: look into spirit groups.

Hey #5. did you ever go to school? your grammar is pathetic. Perhaps you need to worry more about your lack of skills than whether someone can afford a sorority

Wtf do sororities need that much money for. That's as much as frats dues but they have tailgates and parties. Where does that money go?

Dumbfounded many say if you are asking about cost you can't afford it. Didn't anyone discuss and plan tuition, fees, and other expenses with their parents and friends.

Thanks for saying so. I can afford it, but my parents wanted to know the ballpark of how much. I'm also paying for a good portion so we just wanted to be prepared with how much we'd be laying down.
