fraternity

by: Future Pledge

I'm going to rush for a fraternity this upcoming semester, but was wondering which top/mid tier frats I should rush for? I want to be in one that is respected as well as involved throughout the campus.

Forgot to mention that my interest was in Sigma Chi, Delt, KA, and Sig Ep

But all those are respected except maybe sigma chi, other fraternities don't like or respect them but they do pull girls

I agree with everything above. Delt and ka are equal in ranks in terms of guys, but ka has one of the nicer bigger house and is in WC so they're above delt. Sig ep is the best out of those 4, but there's a special types of "flamboyant" guy that joins them, they do pull hard though. Sigma chi is the absolute worst, stay as far away from their motel as possible. Guys are complete chaches, they're an embarrassment to UT Greek life, and get no respect from other frats. In all fairness some girls like them but often in a GBF manner. As a guy in kappa sig, I definitely recommend checking us out too our new house puts us on par with sig ep.

Lol why tf would a Kappa Sig get on here, say he's a kappa sig, and then try to promote his fraternity

KA house is not bigger than Delt. Very similar, rush both and see what crowd you fit in with.

I saw them both during rush and they seemed similar sizes. I saw a post on greekrank during rush last year that said ka had the 3rd biggest house by square foot behind SAE and Fiji, but sig ep seems bigger than ka to me.

Of those 4, Sigma Chi, Delt, and KA are all in the same tier and Sig Ep is in a tier above them. All good fraternities nonetheless. Sigma Chi pulls more than Delt and KA but they aren't respected at all. Girls still like them for some reason though.

Based on my own experience:
- Sig Ep has chill guys who are normally pretty attractive and throw great parties; of these houses I'll see the most girls from pkt
- KA and Sigma Chi are about equal with both houses having about the same amount of cool and attractive guys but tend to hang out with different girls like Sigma Chi pulls Zeta & Tri Delta vs KA I'll see my pkt friends much more at their house
- Delt has nice guys but because it ins't in West Campus it isn't on the radar nearly as much as any of the other frats but have a great brotherhood and my friends in AXO and Alpha Phi spend a lot of time at their parties

If I was a guy, I'd go Sig Ep if you want the prestige of being apart of 'Top 3' and pulling a lot of girls but I've heard the brotherhood in all of the houses in great, especially Sigma Chi. Granted, I'm not a guy but this is what I've heard and experienced this past year through myself and my friends

Substance-Free Housing

Foundation President Hammond provided a report from the North American Interfraternity Council’s (NIC) Alcohol Commission. The Board discussed the report and how substance-free policy would best be implemented and enforced. Warren confirmed that discussions will continue and a suggested plan of action for fraternity-wide substance-free facilities adoption and budget implications will be presented at the fall meeting.

The amount of KA groupies in kappa especially makes that not true - I have way more friends who were at KA barges and formals than sigma chi's. Often if I go to Sigma chi, I won't find a single girl there unless they are Tri delt, zeta, AXO or A phi at least for PC 16
