NOLA? This sounds promising.
And yes, it's competitive. The difference here is that the girls are better students and smarter in general than at those joke schools. (UGA is exempt from the label of joke school)...our recruitment is pretty similar to UGA's in terms of general emphasis

UT is much more selective than Ole Miss and Bama, but maybe not as competitive. What I mean by that is recruitment at Bama actually matters, and you need to be on your A game. A girl from Katy or The Woodlands can get into their Old Row top tier houses if she dresses up well, has good grades, and has good conversations. At UT, even if you have all of that, you're not going to be in certain sororities because you weren't from the right neighborhood. At UT, girls going to the most selective sororities don't even have to try at all to get in. They already know.

the poster is talking bama/miss, so yeah, ut is competitive compared to them.
and compared to standford, chicago, yale, ucla is not competitive, so there ya go.

and guess what, we got way more pride here at texas than effing cali schools, so keep your west coast ass over there and dry your tears about not getting into berkeley.

Nice try at making Ole Miss and Alabama look good because they have pretty girls.
I'll take pretty and smart any day. We laugh at these seniors so excited that they got accepted to Ole Miss/Bama (as if it's hard to get in).heheh

Texas women are chic (except for Baylor women). Texas has large metro areas which feed into UT. Miss and Alabama women look like they should be on "Toddlers and Tiaras". Miss is the poorest state in the nation and Ole Miss "top houses" covet girls from Jackson, Mississippi and girls from TX suburbs that UT top houses won't touch.

True that the sought after girls at Alabama or Miss look different. Pretty, yes, but different. In fact, we can tell the girls who transfer into PKT from other schools just by how they smile and hold themselves. Some girls that are in PKT houses that are transfers from other schools just don't fit the PKT mold here. The pretty girls that are in top houses at Bama/Miss fit in more with Zeta/Alpha Phi/Alpha Chi over here. They are all pretty but just in a different way.

Except that the people who go Greek at UT are not from uncompetitive podunk or inner city schools. They're overwhelmingly wealthy private schools or well-to-do suburb schools, and everyone's been able to afford an SAT tudor. No one here is a first-generation college student.
With that being said, rich, hot Texas girls who couldn't get into UT go to SMU, TCU, or - god forbid - A&M. Ole Miss/Alabama is for girls with weird reputations or girls from fringe Old Money neighborhoods and suburbs who get snapped up by SEC top tiers.

UT is so competitive with an acceptance rate of 39% while true competitive colleges have acceptance rates of 10% or lower. Stop misleading PNM on this site about academic rigor at a mega sized
state university "unreal." (btw UCLA acceptance rate is 17% but
people here in SoCal don't have that superior attitude about it)
