phi psi or pike
by: QI'm interested in joining both these groups and was wondering how bad the hazing is for these since I have a tough course load

Honestly it's pretty hard to tell since different pledge trainers might make pledgeship easier or harder by year. Based off of word of mouth alone (and this is completely anecdotal so take it with a grain of salt) I hear that pike is tougher than Phi Psi. But that is in no way a guarantee that Phi Psi's spring pledgeship will be easier this spring.

Phi psi is dedicated to raising chapter GPA, with mandatory study hours and a free hour a week with a tutor included in the price of dues. They don't have a rep for hazing as hard and are going to be lenient when it comes to weeks where you have tests and assignments. Pike does not have as strong of a commitment to raising chapter GPA and will care a lot less about your grades.
Obliviously Phi Psi is in the mindset of "we're moving up in the world" because of their new house, and that sense of ambition is translating into a desire to increase the chapter's GPA ranking as well.

I looked on the Dean of Students website and they posted a list of chapter sizes. Phi Psi had 40 actives and 16 pledges last fall. Theta Chi and Pi Kapp are bigger.Pike had 91 actives and 32 pledges.
Phi Psi might get better with the new house but they have a long way to go. Phi Psi might be equal with Pike by the time you graduate.
I'd go Pike.
