great 8 and pkt

by:

Is it true that in this day and time, ranks are basically just 2 groups? That is, either PKT, or now days, the great 8? My sister in PKT said a big 6 reference is becoming obselete.

All of this discussion over who is more “elite” at UT is comical considering it has one of the weakest Greek Systems of all the SEC state schools. UT’s admission policies have dramatically reduced the number of potential incoming Greeks going through the system which has substantially diluted the available talent pool. It’s why many of the “elite” fraternities have to take ACC students to maintain their numbers and why the girls currently in Top 6 sororities aren’t as pretty as their counterparts from 20+ years ago. In truth, a large number of the members considered to be in “elite” UT fraternities and sororities today would probably not have been given a bid by their same organizations prior to the impact of the admission policy changes.

UT’s admission policies that were altered years ago significantly diluted the pool of available candidates going through the system and is why most of the “elite” fraternities pledge ACC students to maintain their numbers and why the girls in Top 6 sororities today are not near as attractive as their counterparts were from 20+ years ago. In truth, many of those members in “elite” fraternities and sororities today would probably mot receive a bid from their same organizations prior to the impact of the admission policy changes.
