competitive?
by: PNM2021I am seriously wondering if sorority rushing is as competitive as it sounds on Greek Rank. I don't have connections, but in all honesty I'm just looking for a group of girls that I'll have a great time with. I don't really care about ranks/tiers. Does anyone know how many of the girls actually get cut? Is rushing still competitive in the "lower tiers"?

The truth is, yes - UT sorority rush is very competitive. All the houses make cuts, even the "lower" ones. Be very prepared with your resume, pics and recs, and keep an open mind. The good news is, all the girls I know who've gone through did end up getting bids.....just may not have been to their "dream" houses. All seem very happy now, though. Good luck!

Rush at UT is the most ridiculous, fraud-based fake ritual ever. It is especially like that for those 8 groups that you think are so wonderful. It is already "scripted" before it even starts. The sororities already know who they're picking, as well as the rushees knowing where they're going to end up. If someone tells you to go through rush there with an open mind, it's all an act and you're wasting your valuable time. Skip it and do something worthy that's part of the UT system itself, and don't become part of the greek shallow system.

honestly some of my really good friends had little to no connections going in and still went 'top tier' but all of the sororities are amazing no matter where you end up. I have friends in all of the houses who just have easily been in possibly another house but their personality and pref choice gave them the amazing group of girls, friendships and memories they have today. Anywhere you pledge will be amazing at UT - just make sure to get in your references and all of the prerush stuff done in order to set yourself best up for success
