Who thinks that? Just curious bc the TCU website has really weird rankings over and over. Makes me wonder.....It is my fallback school if I don't get in here, but it has KKG and tri delt as very low. Both of those do well at my high school and I have always heard they are top. I know it is a lot of out of state girls so maybe that is why? Any idea who mixes with top fraternities? All of the other discussions on here seem to actually match what I hear in my school so just wondering..

Kappa and DDD are not respected at TCU. They are considered bottom. The houses everyone wants to be in are Zeta, Theta, Gamma Phi and Chi O depending on the kind of person you are most like

Tech is Pi Phi Tri Delt Zeta. Kappa is just now moving to top tier this year (depending on who you talk to, some say they're still middle).

Kappa has far surpassed Zeta in the past FEW years at tech

I transferred from tech my freshman year and kappa and pi phi are infinitely more exclusive/classier. Which is a rarity at tech. Probably the only two decent houses there out of the 11 or 12.

UT has such a minute amount of Greeks in proportion to its size, that it's Greek community is irrelevant compared to TCU, SMU or even SEC schools. Combined with the "top 10 percent" rule, which weeds out 90% of the good looking, social kids, its pretty much a joke.

By: UT?
by: bevot

silly. the number of Greeks at UT is bigger than both SMU and TCU. You must be at TCU since you can't do basic math.

Texas' greek system is one of the oldest, top, most competitive greek systems in the country. TCU (and Baylor's) greek junk is child's play in comparison, not to mention your student bodies, which is really just a bunch of kids who couldn't get into UT.

UT has enrollment of 50,000 and tcu has about 10,000. Texas' Greek pop is about 15% of the student body. That is a Greek population 3/4 the size of your entire school. So proportionally yes I guess it's small, but Texas is a big school with a lot more to it than just being rich and preppy. I'm a Texas ATO PC '10 and while I respect TCU, I think the city of Austin provides you with a lot more room to explore than Ft Worth. If you're going to school for Greek life. UT is undoubtedly #1 in the state.
