PNM, that is NOT true and NOT the way quota works. Quota is the number of PNM's with pref invitations divided by 12 sororities. The number of women being cut by each house after each round is supposed to ensure that there is a home for 98% of PNM's on Bid Day.
The issue is that 300+ PNM's drop out when they still have invitations to other houses. There is room for these women in the Greek system here but they opt out because they THINK they're too good for many of our houses.
There is a reason why amazing Greek campuses like Alabama have 93%+ of PNM's getting bids and Texas has only 75-80%.

^^This. Of all the PNM's who don't get bids, probably 90% drop out because they don't like the houses they have left. Maybe 5-10% are released completely.
The most common thing I've seen where girls get released is when they carry all Big 6 to Philanthropy or Sisterhood rounds and then are released from all those houses the morning of Sisterhood or Pref. If you keep a good mix of "tiers" on your party lists, you're more likely to keep having options. It's too late for this year, but it's a good idea to pick 1-3 non Big 6 houses that you like and keep ranking them "1" until you go into Pref round.
