less "southern" fraternities
by: qCan yall list out some of the fraternities are less "fratty" and stereotypical? Thinking of rushing this spring (im UT20) and I want to focus on the ones that don't have that "southern" vibe. I really like the concept of brotherhood in a fraternity but I just don't care much for cowboy boots or country music.

I don't like country music and I'm in a fraternity that's very southern. It doesn't matter, most guys like hip hop anyways...
If you're being this picky there's not a fraternity for you at Texas. ATO is the most non southern fraternity that's decent, but they're all going to have southern guys, it's texas.

I dont mind a little southern vibe, just not one that centralizes around it. I'm the type of dude that listens to mainly rock and hip hop. Some people call me a hipster but I'm not nearly as pretentious.

The only fraternities that take spring pc's aren't very southern at all, besides pike and delt. I'd say the most southern fraternities that are pretty big are KA, ksig, fiji, and sae with fiji and sae being like Dallas oil money southern. All of the big 8 fraternities are pretty damn southern, considering they are mostly white kids from Texas and honestly outside of the the 8 main fraternities then pike and ato, the rest arent really worth joining... Maybe you should look into a different type of student group?

Idk man I watched ATO's roundup video and they were playing country music in the beginning lol. Also in there pictures they all seem to be dressing the same, wearing sperrys and polos
