Im gonna believe you on that, but why dont those girls show up to mixers? I feel like pike takes a lot of those oos rich kids that didnt have a fair chance to rush the other frats

Pike does take more oos. However it's not that they didn't have a chance. Most of the oos kids are from the same suburb of Arizona. Suburbs in Tucson, Phoenix, etc. as an active that's recruiting and the other oos from other states are from the same area as an active was from. Most of the oos rushes that get a bid were at the same hs or were good friends with an active. It's not like they just hand out bids to kids just because they're from another state. They are, however, more open to the idea of oos and a "new face" without connections than most fraternities. ATO is kind of the same way but they take a lot of kids from south Texas that honestly wouldn't stand a chance rushing the top houses that only take Dallas burbs and HP kids. Pike actually does have a lot of girls show up to their events. They sometimes have trouble with swamp because it's on the same night as other stuff. But they kind of have a lockdown on the sororities mentioned by "truth", whether you like those girls are not is up to you.

The reasoning behind them not showing up as much to fraternities not in the top 8 is partly because tradition tells them who they're supposed to hang out with, along with their bigs telling them who to hangout with, so the girls usually go to upper middle/top mixers in big numbers to see which one is their favorite fraternity, then some will become groupies of the ones they like the most. For example, the girls in zeta/tridelt know on bid day that they usually hangout with sigma chi/KA/kappa sig/delt/sigep the most. So they'll go to a number of those houses based on where their friends are going, then they usually start making friends or hooking up with guys in certain houses so they go to those houses more often. Usually certain pledge classes of fraternities will like other certain pledge classes of sororities and vice versa so they'll become close
