grades
by: kWhat are the minimum GPA requirements for each house? I've been told that some girls will get cut from certain houses after the first day because their GPA isn't high enough. I'm a transfer, and after my first year my GPA is a 2.95. I'm just worried that I'll fall in love with a house and get cut because they have a 3.0 requirement and I barely missed it.

Honestly, a 2.95 is not competitive. You'll probably be dropped right away by just about everyone. Look at the sorority GPA averages. Even SDT, the lowest by far of everyone, has nearly a 3.2. You're an automatic grade risk and average reducer. Even if you had lots of real friends in a house, it's unlikely you wouldn't get dropped. Sorry but that's the truth.

Stop embarrassing yourself. Sororities have minimum standards to give a bid. I don't know of a single one that gives out bids to under 3.0 GPAs. Some of them have minimums as high as 3.5 to 3.6 which is their house average. Some people flame out once they are members but recruitment GPAs are pretty set in stone.
K, the UPC all sorority GPA average is 3.4821. Almost every house hovers in the 3.4 to 3.6 average. Grades are very competitive. You're competing with transfers and sophomores with much higher GPAs than yours, got to narrow down the PNMs and grades cuts are easy. I am not in one of the more academically fierce houses, and my house won't even consider below a 3.2 for a sophomore or transfer.
