texas cowboys
by: alldayCan someone give me good information on what exactly texas cowboys is and how to get into it? I know they shoot the canons at the games, but whats the real reason people want to be in it and what should i do to give myself the best opportunity to be in it?

@cowboy bill I wasn't being serious with all the swearing it was just internet banter. All I'm saying is that even though I have a 1% chance of getting in, it's still nice to get some info about it so I don't seem like a total rookie when I go to UT. I don't get why people have to comment with this whole "if you have to ask you're not getting in" stuff. Like its greekrank either you should be on here to ask questions or help others not read these posts and down vote them and provide useless info, you should have better things to do haha

Its basically an honorary/service organization that's very prestigious. Silver spurs is very similar. One perk is they can go to any fraternity's parties. You have to be at least a 2nd semester sophomore I believe. Most fraternities put up 2 guys per semester for consideration. All of the relevant fraternities (phi psi/phi delt and up) have guys in cowboys/spurs, top tier has more but they also have more actives to compete with to even be considered. There's also a quota of independent guys, most of which end up being football/baseball players. Cowboys and spurs also have a period somewhat similar to pledgeship

People who are getting into cowboys are already on their radar before they get to ut. just like greek life, it's all about connections. You obviously don't have connections ... or manners.
