is affiliating with this chapter worth it?
by: DDD TransferHi, I'm a UA Tridelt that is transferring to UT. I've been wondering if it's worth my time to ask to affiliate with this chapter. I'm trying to get more serious about my academics and step away from the huge superficial party scene at UA. This chapter is ranked top tier on GR but I would really like to know if the members are intelligent, compassionate and enjoyable people that I could appropriate having around. I'd consider my self a girly-girl, very enthusiastic and extremely confident. Would this chapter be a good fit for me or would I be the black sheep?

They will take you if you want to be associated with a group of girls that are MEAN to ALL the other sororities. They did some dirty playing for years with cheating at fraternity events. They had them change rules and even did a photo opt that displayed them wrapped naked in USA flags. What a way to represent America! It has really hurt them ever since. One can say, "a few don't represent the whole" but unfortunately that is how things work. If they can cheat at events, then who says that they are not cheating during the Rush process.

I think it's really weird that you just posted this with so much identifying info. Why don't you get to know the Tri-Delts once you get here and then you & the chapter can make a decision about whether to affiliate or go early alum. Any idiot knows Tri-Delt is Big 6 which are the most sought out houses on campus.

Unlike some, I don't join a group for their title. Thank you to everyone who has commented, this has been enlightening to hear the reputation of this chapter.

There is no reason to be rude.
(The sad thing for this OP -- Bama sororities are way more polite than UT sororities as you just shows us on here)

My point was that you should get to know the chapter and decide for yourself, not be listening to the crap on GR. Everyone knows this site's purpose is to tear down other chapters even if it means lying. Be a damn adult and make your own decision about affiliating.
