Does Kappa take a lot of legacies?

A good chunk of Kappa's pledge class will be legacies, but considering there may be enough legacies going through rush to fill 2 or 3 pledge classes, way less than half the legacies will get a Kappa bid.

Being a legacy really only helps you get invited back to round 2 (provided you're not a grade risk or major slooot), unless you have a sitting sister here or your mom/grandma is a big time national officer. After that, the Kappa legacies who get bids have all the same things in common with other Kappa pledges - ie, connections from camp and high school, from the right schools, etc.

This is true for all Big 6 legacies - it really just helps you get invited back to round 2 and there are way more legacies than spots in a pledge class.

Does it actually hurt you for other chapters?

Not really. Most PNM's are a legacy somewhere.

The only time it will hurt you is if you have a sitting sister at UT and houses assume you want her house, or if you're going through rush with a twin and houses assume you both want to pledge the same house.

It hurts within tiers. If your an AXO legacy DG might cut you. ADPI KD might cut you.

The other tiers really cut you if you are a legacy to another house?

We wouldn't cut you for having just a legacy, but if you're a triple DG legacy and wear anchors during rush...then, yeah, probably you'll get cut because you're sending a huge message. Of if all your aunts and cousins (not legacies but strong ties) were Chi O's at Texas, then yeah, you're probably gonng to get cut.

But if your granny was a Kappa 50 years ago and wasn't very involved as an alumna, I highly doubt Pi Phi and Theta would cut you for legacy alone as a reason.

You're more likely to get cut for it being known you have a ton of friends in one house than being a random legacy.
