adpi underrated?

by: @

Saw this on ADPi's page (posted by somebody claiming to be a Theta) and thought it was cool:

"I have no idea how or why they're considered below AXO or APhi except maybe in looks. I personally think they have much more class. Their house is beautiful and very tastefully done, which I think says a lot. And even if they don't really get their pick of girls, there's a good number in there who could easily have gotten into the top 3 in better circumstances or were already being looked at by those houses. They stay classic and poised compared to other middle tiers."

They were founded the same year as Zeta (1906) and they've never been closed. Were they a stronger house in the past?

They have always been a classy mid tier.

Has been as high as just below Zeta. Where they are now is probably the lowest they've been. Just like with DG, it just takes a bad PC or two to completely change your position in the middle tiers. Things don't really change in the top and bottom, but the middle is much more volatile. I think that post you copied went way overboard and was obviously written by an ADPi though.

Things change in the middle back in the day ADPI was better than APHI and even with DG. It will happen again.

"better than aphi and dg", hah, never. sure, better than kd and I do like the adpi house but they've always been less attractive and more awkward than the mid 3. They are not middle, just top of the bottom, but always ahead of kd, which are a bunch of wanna be's.

@huh, you really don't know your stuff. ADPI was def above DG and APhi in the past.

Yes, things change. APhi has been lucky and has worked hard. They used to be bottom tier and about the same level as AZD. When KD arrived APhi moved up.

This is true A Phi was not good back in the 80sand 90s they mixed with lower tier frats and did not take quota. When they finally took quota one year they put a broom on their door to show they swept rush. They have really improved. ADPI has been in a down cycle for 5-6 years they will pick it up and be right there with the other mid tiers. Id say DGs problems since 2013 have already begun to help them.

Is this really a post that an ADPi would write? Are you that desperate? And what years were you ahead of anyone?? LOL! That is what we thought! NEVER!

Well you obviously don't have a family with a long history at UT because you'd know that ADPi was once the closest middle tier to the Big Six and it wasn't all that long ago, maybe 10 or so years.

Aphi used to be in the bottom, down by AZD, but their nationals put in place policies that put looks above anything else in recruitment for all their chapters and that's why APhi has gotten so much higher in the tiers and fraternities love them. That's been happening with them all over the country. It also means they take members they probably shouldn't just based on looks but oh well.

DG has struggled a lot in the last four years or so. The way they've gone from upper middle to upper lower should be a lesson to everyone. Their biggest problem is they haven't admitted there's a problem among themselves and won't recover until they do.

When it comes to getting into the middle tier and staying there, looks is the most important thing. Kind of sad and a lot of people will deny it, but when you don't have the background to be in the Big Six, there's really only one way to keep yourself in a position higher than the bottom, and that's by having the fraternities think you're hot.

@ha ha, you are incorrect. I am not an ADPi I was in another mid tier. ADPi was highly respected in the 70s and 80s. And def above DG, APhi, etc.

A long history with UT?? That is try hard ADPi. Get back to your real job alumni and get off of GR! Nothing is going to help your rush! AND by the way, if you know anything about the history of UT (and mostly in the last 10 years), getting into UT is about smarts not looks. So you blew it on that one. Nice try though!!!

@^^^^^^^^^^SameADPi Alumni... You think one person is writing these comments. Not.

Attractive = Sorority. Smart = Sorority. It's not one or the other.

And yes. I do know history. And more than 10 years as I have multigenerational family ties to UT. The OP talked about history and ADPi being classy.

ADPi was undeniably at the very top of the mid-tier in the late '80s and early '90s. As a matter of fact, I had friends who chose ADPi over a Big Six sorority, knowingly so. APhi was bottom of the barrel back then. It's astonishing to see them now!

So your daughter's legacy will only get her ADPi at UT. Getting on GR and trying to self promote their worth, or in this case worthlessness, is a little too much. We don't care about what you thought your sorority was in the 80's and 90's!

This thread was started by a quote from a Theta. Whether that was an active or a mom we don't know.

There is no reason to be rude.

No Theta, ADPi mom! Go away and grow up. Do you really think GR means anything? Just a fun place to poke fun of stupid.
