Although the tiers are definitely how most people say, honestly in my experience, it matters but not to the extent people make it out to. I have friends in literally every chapter and I don't think that I know anyone who would care or discriminate friendship based on that. However, I think it's more an issue of frats making the male and female tiers so catty, because that is where it matters sadly. But if you have hot friends and if you're hot, you're hot. Just my two cents, bc GR is terrifying.

shut up greekchat witches who were in unpopular chapters trying to convince girls not to rank because YOU witches were in bottom ranked chapters; yes, all UT chapters have smart accomplished girls (they got into UT, after all) but not all PNMs are pretty/cool/popular (and family status varies).
So, yeah, PNMs: rankings mean something. Here at UT, you need to shoot for Big 6 or Key 3 or forget it:
Pi Phi, Kappa, Theta, ChiO, TriD, Zeta
or
Alpha Chi, Alpha Phi, DG.
The rest of the chapters are there if you're not quite ready for prime time, amiright?!
