legacy

All houses take legacies, but no house takes all legacies. Make sure you actually ARE a legacy to the house you think you are- quite a few sororities don't consider grandmothers, stepmothers, or stepsisters to make you a legacy. I don't think any sororities consider aunts. Some sororities will look into the strength of your legacy in evaluating you- if your mom pledged ABC 30 years ago and hasn't done anything for ABC since, it will not help you as much as if your mom is active in her alumnae group, a national/regional officer, active in the official philanthropy, etc.

Chi Omega does not consider granddaughters legacies. Their national legacy policy only extends to mothers and sisters NOT grandmothers.
I'm not sure of anyone else's policy, but that is for sure Chi Omega's so there's at least one that doesn't count grandmothers so you should stop giving out wrong information.
