Sigma Phi Epsilon - ΣΦΕ Fraternity at University of Texas at Austin - UT 4.0 Just recently got kicked off, I don't think it would be good for UT's Greek system to lose another top chapter so soon, especially with no one ready to step up and take their place yet.

Sigma Phi Epsilon - ΣΦΕ Fraternity at University of Texas at Austin - UT 3.5 The point was that there's a difference between the law and the reality of the situation. Sig Ep played a role sure, but they didn't drink all the alcohol, and they didn't abduct the girl. While they may share some of the blame, they get pinned with the largest share, while they are not, by a long shot the most responsible party for her awful night.

Sigma Phi Epsilon - ΣΦΕ Fraternity at University of Texas at Austin - UT 3.0 You're neither in the Greek system, nor someone who has a social life if you're throwing a fit about a minor getting alcohol. Simply because they can be legally held accountable doesn't mean it was primarily their fault. Even if they were controlling for minors she could have gotten alcohol with ease. It's not like they were serving it to kids on the playground, and 18 is at or above the legal drinking age pretty much everywhere except the US.

Sigma Phi Epsilon - ΣΦΕ Fraternity at University of Texas at Austin - UT 3.0 Yeah, and the guy at the liqueur satire who sold someone a handle is responsible for them getting drunk and plowing into a car, cause they're the real cause. I think fraternites should just stop serving alcohol and have ice cream socials. In that case the worst they can be held accountable for is someone's lactose intolerance.
