Phi Delt was THE fraternity at UT back then so your mom probably did want you to join them and your dad most likely wanted to be one of them.

Phi Delta Theta - ΦΔΘ Fraternity at University of Texas at Austin - UT 2.0 If the only thing that you can brag about is that you were relevant 25 years ago it's better to keep you mouth shut. Self rankers who report anything negative and generally a weird group of guys. Wouldn't recommend.

Phi Delta Theta - ΦΔΘ Fraternity at University of Texas at Austin - UT 3.0 Seriously....these dudes are just mediocre. Their new house SUCKS. I have been to 4 parties in a row this year and the first two held at the old house were 10X better then the new ones. The guys are really sweet but need to touch up on their gentlemen skills....like big time.
