How much does it actually help you during recruitment if you're a legacy?

Some sororities will drop you after first rounds even if you're a legacy but they didn't like you. Others are required by Nationals to give all legacies bids unless the girl says something absolutely horrible.

This isn't true. No nationals require bids to be given to legacies. Some nationals require that legacies are kept through the second round but can't be dropped after and some require that if a legacy attends pref they are at the top of the bid list. It is entirely untrue that any house automatically gives a bid even if they don't like you
