sorority competitiveness??
by: just wonderingjust wondering, how competitive is sorority rush at UW? I am from a southern state where greek life is really huge and competitive, and I'm just not sure what to expect up north. can you get in a top house without connections here, or are you pretty much screwed?

Moderately so. I mean... This past fall 1000 girls rushed. With I think 12 houses and 60-65ish pledge classes that leaves 100-200 without a house. Keep in mind though a lot of girls drop before hand because they have their heart set on a house and they get dropped. With houses like axid and SDT they are always looking for more girls because girls turn away from them as soon as they meet them because they aren't "top tier". Axid though is quickly rising and if you wanted to aim for a little less crazy competition id aim there. Otherwise usually Gphi, kappa, DG, AXO, and aphi are very competitive with it descending in this order. If you want a more competitive house DG and AXO are both very relaxed but still with good reps.

Am curious about how sorority competitiveness is measured? What does it mean that Gphi, Kappa, DG and AXO are very competitive in this descending order? How does this affect girls rushing?
