non greeks

How do non-greeks treat people who are in greek life? Is it better to experience non-greek life first or to rush right away?

to preface this, i spent a semester non-greek before i pledged.

i would say the vast majority of non-greek students just don't care at all whether you are affiliated or not. they will treat you according to your personality and your merits. However, there absolutely is are people who will think less of you for being in a house and will be dismissive and maybe even confrontational about it. Imagine the stereotypical person who claims that "you pay for friends" and that's them.

as for non-greek/greek. I completely regret not rushing first semester. all my dorm friends did and i had to watch them have lots of fun and meets tons of new people while I walked to bassett or broom street every friday to drop 5$ to drink two beers with people i'd never met before and would likely never see again. Why put yourself through 4 months of that when you could avoid it all together
