legacies
by: badgersDo sororities here like legacies? What if you're from out of state? I don't have my heart set on my legacy chapter, but from looking at this site they're really popular and are made of mostly Wisconsin girls and I just want to know if I could have a chance if I do fall in love with them.

If you mean GPhi, yes, they are popular but they aren't made up of ONLY Wisconsin girls--more Midwestern, with LOTS of girls from Chicago and Minneapolis suburbs.
I do wish they would branch out more. Hopefully, this will be the year they can attract a more geographically diverse class.

Go in with an open mind. All the chapters here are great in their own way and if you are a legacy to one of them, that is great, but it doesn't mean they are automatically going to pick you either. Lots of girls come in as legacies, and there are different levels (your sister is currently in the chapter at UW vs. your grandmother was a member of XYZ at Random State U in 1940) . If you come in with an open mind and go through the process, you'll end up where you're supposed to be. Have fun and good luck!

Agreed, LOTS of Chicago and Minneapolis, less Wisconsin (mostly Milwaukee). But they have girls from all over. I'm pretty good friends with a few girls, and they are from CA, VA and NJ. And I know they aren't the only ones in the sorority from those states or states other than IL, MN and WI. As for legacy status, not sure how GPhi does it, but my sorority takes a special look at legacies although it doesn't guarantee you a spot. Just go through rush with an open mind and you'll find a wonderful sorority for you, whether it's your legacy house or not. And if it does end being GPhi, they are a fantastic house and I'm sure you'll be happy.
