They aren't THAT much better than houses like Aphi, AXO, AEPhi or Pi Phi. It's really just more hype than anything.
In fact, I would say AXO/AEPhi are very comparable to Kappas, Pi Phi to GPhis and Aphi to DG.
The most important thing is for you to go with the house you feel most comfortable in, not what seems to be most popular.

I sorta see the Aephi/Axo comparison to Kappa, mostly because of the attitudes and geographic make-up. But the DG/Aphi and Gphi/Piphi? Not at all. I've never thought of those houses as similar. Not even a little bit. you could make the argument that Aphi has shades of all 3 top houses I guess, but Piphi is more comparible to APhi or Axo---not remotely comparible to DG, Gphi or Kappa for that matter, imo.

I agree with the number of attractive girls in Kappa that it's at about 90% of the house but GPhi and DG? Not even close. There are some very average looking girls in those houses.

This doesn't seem true ot me at all
Aephi is very specific type of girl that is not a chill axo at all
maybe xo and axo? pi phi and aphi? i also think dg and aphi are similar.

The three houses listed are the three houses that do not have to try as hard to pull in a good class and then it generally fits--
GPhi-- Chicago
DG--Minnesota
Kappa--The spread
The person in the first comment relating the houses just basically nailed the correlation of origin.

Yes, the Greek system is sadly incredibly superficial. Those houses are tops for the most part because of looks and their social calendar. The girls also have to have decent personalities (doesn't necessarily mean they are nice or welcoming) and know how to hold a conversation without being awkward.

This is a perfect description of why sororities are considered "top". Unfortunately, I don't think most PNMs understand that and it skews the process.
