transfer spring rush

by:

How does spring rush work at UW? I'm a sophomore transferring in and I'll be doing spring rush. Are all the fraternities here pretty chill with sophomores during the spring (I know I'm a little old, I missed the fall transfer deadline :( ) or do some of the "top houses" only rush freshmen?

I can really only speak for my own house. We take one or two sophomores in the fall, and if we take sophomores it is only because we really like them. We haven't taken a spring sophomore since I've been here.

Passed that, I haven't really heard of any "top" houses taking a sophomore spring or fall. There's a few in Ksig but they all knew people there when they transferred.

Is it mostly because of age? That kinda sucks haha, but I kinda expected that

yeah kinda. They are just subjected to higher standards when compared to freshmen.

But it's easier to get a bid as a sophomore transfer than as a sophomore whose been here for two years.

When it comes down to it, give it a shot. rush around the houses you are interested in, just know that it'll be a little harder to get a bid.
