by: Confused?I go to Michigan but have friends in Alpha Phi and Chi O here. What makes Chi O a lower-tier sorority here? The girls I know go out a ton, do great service work, are stunning and really nice too. I don't know her directly but some of my friends in Chi O have shown me pictures of a girl named Christy Cade...how could a sorority with a girl who looks like that be on the bottom?? Plus some other gorgeous girls who are definitely prettier than some Kappa girls who I guess is your top house.

Ranking is based on involvement, looks, fun factor, who socials are with, and who you are partnered with for events.

The only people who rank sororities/fraternities are the people who live and die by this website. Many people find friends in different sororities/fraternities and don't particularly care about "perceived" rank on some random website. This message board can be shallow, so take everything with a grain of salt.
Also don't call us idiots... Assuming you are the same Michigan girl, you don't go to school here. So relax

There are a lot of factors that go into how popular a house is besides looks. Ie. Are they fun to hang out with? How do they act when they go out? Are they involved on campus? Can they get along with girls in other houses? Do boys like them? Yes, looks can help with these things, but it's definitely not everything. You especially can't point out one specific girl in a chapter and say "she's gorgeous, why isn't this a top house"? Every house has stunners, some more than others. And every house has not so stunners, again, some more than others.

what determines who is ranked where? like what determines gphi or kappa or whoever is top but pi phi is middle and chi o is close to bottom? they all have pretty girls, nice girls, great community service and parties so what makes some better than others? or are u all just idiots who think one is better than the other when in fact they're all great sororities and the purpose of sororities maybe isn't to rank them as to who's coolest..isnt that what college is about? escaping the cliquey-ness of high school to a place where people don't care as much what bag u carry or who u hang out with?
