sorority rush

Not sure where you are transferring from but Sophmore rushees are VERY common here. All the houses (from top to bottom) usually end up with handful of Sophmore pledges. Good luck to you!

I rushed this fall. There were nine sophomores in my group. Only one of those nine was left on bid day, and she had a sister in the house she ended up in. It's def harder if you don't know a whole chapter.

I rushed as a sophomore, and my pledge class has a pretty solid group of other girls who did, too. Recruitment has definitely gotten slightly more competitive because the Greek system here is growing in general. I would say more girls drop out of rush because they don't like the houses they get preffed at/get bids from though, than not kidding a bid at all.

rushing as a sophomore is definitely harder. i ended up in a very well respected house, but most of the sophomores i met during rush (which was a very good amount) dropped or did not get bids

My advice to you would be to go into rush with an open mind! Yes, majority of the sophomores rushers I knew ended up dropping out of recruitment. However, this is mostly due to them being dead set on a specific house going into rush (based on friends, rep, etc) and not getting called back to that house. The house I ended up in was not one that was even on my radar before recruitment started but I'm so happy I ended up where I did. Give every house a fair chance and it'll work out how it should.
