by: Incoming frosh girlHow socially damning is it to end up in a weaker social house? Like will I still have fun and all or will it hurt my experience

I know girls who joined houses just for the social status and realized quickly that it was not for them. Go with your gut feeling and where you feel comfortable. Each round you'll learn more and more about each chapter. I preffed at two completely different houses (a top house and a middle tier) and although they were very different in "rank", I loved both. Do not discount a house just because it's not the best. You may end up loving it. Besides....would you want to live in a house with 50 girls you don't fit in with? That's the most important part of recruitment and what you'll truly get out of being in a sorority in the long-term. Sounds cliche, but it's true.

New Perspective is right on. Look for a chapter where YOU feel comfortable, whatever the "tier" is, regardless of what people say about it on an anonymous ranking site.
No matter what chapter you join, you will have socials, pre games, formals, etc… you'll go out and have fun (unless you choose not to)! Good luck to you!
