It's obviously not ideal to have this dorm if you're looking for a really good social life. You'll meet people that are just like you in any dorm you get. Social life will be fine, you'll meet people (maybe less of the type of people you were looking to meet), and rush will be fine.
Look into contacting the housing department about switching to Witte/Sellery/Ogg if you are seriously concerned. I had a friend my freshman year that got into Witte the day before move-in.

First, you might want to learn to spell it if you're going to be living there. Second, I can't believe how AWFUL the dorms are at this school. There really are no good choices. Around the country universities are building state of the art dorms with suites, smart features and plenty of space. And look what passes for quality at this school. Sellery? Ogg? Witte? At any other school they would have been condemned and torn down. And the nearby apartments are even worse.

You don't know what you're talking about if you're seriously saying that Ogg "would have been condemned" elsewhere. The hall was built in 2007 and has most of the amenities you listed.

The dorms are pretty awful. I toured several out-of-state campuses before I decided to come to UW. The Wisconsin dorms were the worst by far. Can't figure out why Wisconsin can't keep up with the nationwide trend.
