Top houses do not commonly take sophomores. They can’t because they have pressure from their Nationals to take freshmen because freshmen pay 4 years of dues. These are facts. The 1 or 2 sophomores that get into top houses each year have hella connections. It’s not just any random sophomore. For other houses, if you don’t fill your quota with freshmen then you can take more sophomores because you need bodies. These are the facts.

Not here to comment on ChiO but what was written about sophs is correct. Most Nationals won’t support filling your house with a year less dues.

Sorry, but no. Do any of you even go here? Or are you like Moms or something? I was involved in recruitment this year, and EVERY SINGLE HOUSE TOOK SOPHOMORES---"top" houses included. APhi, GPhi, Kappa...they all took a handful of sophomores. Sure, it was like 5 or less, but they took sophomores. Have your opinions about a sorority (even though I personally don't agree with them), but don't bring freshmen vs sophomores into what makes a good pledge class or a successful recruitment.

Every single house took sophomores. It’s normal at Wisconsin. Lots of transfers and/or girls who just didn’t rush when they were freshman.
