Feelings about gphi?
by: GI’ve heard lots of mixed reviews about gphi. Some say they are great and top tier, some say they are super overrated. Why do people think they are overrated or not worthy of top tier? Or on the other side what do people like about them?

GPhi is made up of all spare parts. There really isn’t a unifying vibe. They used to be considered the chill, Midwest girls but the best of that bunch has moved on to AXO and DG. Now GPhi is left with girls who want to be top but don’t have what it take to be in the other top houses. Sure there are some fun, cute girls but mostly it’s just meh. That’s why they are overrated.

leaving this comment here so it can be seen. the stereotypes as far as geography within the top houses are that kappa is very diverse and gets a lot of girls from the east and west coast. gphi gets a lot of girls from Chicago and Minneapolis but not a lot of Wisconsin girls at all, although it seems like they’ve been getting more girls from other places (moreso west coast than east coast) over the past couple years. aphi is kinda a mixed bag they get a decent amount of girls from all over the place, but out of all the top houses if there’s one that gets a lot of girls from random Wisconsin towns, it’s aphi.

Not worldly. I know several girls from local high schools that are Gphi...like they all grew up less than 50 miles from the University. They are all are mid in terms of looks but still think they are better than everyone because they came to college with their 8 best friends who all were popular together in high school since 9th grade. They brought that vibe to college. If this sounds awesome, definitely try for that house. Kappas are mean too but at least they are attractive and from places other than the suburbs of Madison.

PNMs beware, these types of posts about houses right before recruitment are sadly just insecure girls tearing each other down.
Please don’t be so naïve to think Gphi is the only house with “issues”. They are a great house on campus—well respected and well liked, despite what it says here. They’ve just drawn the short straw this week. The posts taking shots at Kappa or Aphi are not far behind because these are the top 3 houses. \n\n\n\n\n

Dude. Are you ok? You seem a bit unhinged what with your need to set the record straight about where YOU think Gphi ranks, their status, how people should perceive them or whatever rant you’re on. Did you not get a bid or something?
I think the person above was just trying to say, all houses have pluses and negatives. Don’t take everything on this site so seriously (this thread included) or as gospel. Go through rush and see for yourself.

Relax GPhi. Obviously, all houses have good points and not so good points. That is not up for discussion. The OP asked why YOU are overrated. And clearly we’ve hit on the truth. GPhi is great if you are from WI and still hang with your besties from high school. For everyone else, especially those who didn’t peak in high school, there are better places to land than GPhi.

They are high school 2.0 for girls from the Madison suburbs. That's a great fit for those girls. For most, its not a top pick and, until they can start attracting more of the top out of state girls and girls outside of Madison, they will continue to get less and less relevant each year. They use to be top and have slipped into mid-tier and do a little worse each year. Meanwhile, some mid-tier houses are getting better every year like PiPhi, etc.

Ok, I'm OOS and not in the "top 3", but don't think of Gphi as Wisconsin at ALL. Everybody I met during rush was from Chicago or Minneapolis, with the occasional East Coast or West Coast girl. Still think of them that way. For me, APhi was the same as GPhi but instead of MN/IL sub in WI---lots of rando Wisco towns I've never heard of. For me, Kappa was the most diverse geographically, but that's only because I think the one unifying Kappa quality is net worth---and that isn't necessarily restricted to certain cities, states, etc. lol

So you had a couple conversations before you were cut from a house and that makes you an expert? You do realize that there are a couple hundred girls in that house and just because the handful you talked to doesn’t make you an expert.

I think GPhi is overrated because their farts smell super bad. I’m not sure what they eat to create such noxious gas.
