Is COB worth it?

Is COB worth it if the sorority you want to be in isn’t doing it? Also how do we know what sororities are doing it does anyone know which ones are?

honestly, cob never hurts to participate in. Plus it is a lot less hectic and lets you get to know the girls in a more personal way than through formal recruitment. Contact Panhellenic and they'll let you know what sororities are doing COB. Let me know if you have any questions!

The truth is that COBs can be brutal and uncomfortable, especially when chapters only have a few spots and 30+ girls show up for them. If you do try it don't feel bad if you don't get a bid from a house. What my chapter does is wait until all of the events are over, vote on all the girls and then the girls with the highest votes get bids depending on how many open spots we have. I remember beging disappointed when a girl I liked during a COB didn't get extended a bid because she was voted ever so slightly lower than the ones who got a bid. If you don't get a bid from a house you liked try again during formal recruitment because chances are it had nothing to do with you. I wish you the best of luck!!

Be happy, be fun, be enthusiastic, and dress nicely, and go for it. Is better than eating pizza alone in a dormitory on a Saturday night in February...
